Weekly Groups & Classes
IT Club
Join us on a Wednesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm for our Digital Champions Drop-In.
Gentle Yoga
A perfect start to the week, our Gentle Yoga class is every Monday from 9:30am to 10:30am, each session costs £7 and includes refreshments after.
Community Hub
We welcome everyone to our Community drop-in sessions on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon from 1pm till 3pm and a Friday morning from 9am till 12 noon. There will be refreshments and some food available.
Bloomin' Marvellous Gardening Group
Our weekly Gardening group help to restore the Old Rectory grounds to their former glory! Join us every Friday - meeting at 9am, through till 12pm.
Chair Restoration and Preservation
Gain some amazing skills as you learn how to re-upholster, preserve and restore the chairs of our Historic Council Chamber. This group meets on a Thursday morning from 10am till 11:30am.

Litter Pick
Help our Volunteer Brandon keep your community clean whilst getting out and about, meeting new people, and making a difference.
Our Litter Pick happens every Tuesday Afternoon from 1pm till 3pm.
Events at The Old Rectory
Houghton Feast
Houghton Feast is a timeless fixture in the calendar each year and the grounds around the Old Rectory should be part of the fun once again!
The Feast is a yearly festival which has been taking place annually for over 800 years.
The event was originally conceived as a dedication festival to the parish church of St Michael & All Angels, lasting ten days and includes everything from a fair ground to a ceremonial Ox roast.
The Big Lunch
Our annual picnic in the park for all the family is back!
The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours and communities, with millions of people coming together for a few hours of food, friendship, and fun. It connects people and encourages friendlier, safer communities
Heritage open days
Come and have a look around our extraordinary 500-year-old building. Discover The Old Rectory's prominence in local history with displays by our History and Research Group and The Broken Mask Theatre Company. There will be children's activities, historic trails in our beautiful Rectory Park and the chance to have a self guided tour of our wood panelled hidden treasure, the old Council Chamber.
